During the second week of October a group of wine buyers from the United Kingdom and Ireland will be visiting California wine country for a first-ever search for new-to-market wines.  Beginning October 6, the California Wine Institute Export Program will be hosting more than 100 tasting opportunities throughout the week.

California vintners that are not currently selling wines in the UK or Ireland are invited to submit their wines to be considered for the sales opportunity.  Wineries looking to participate must also make at least 2,500 cases of wine and be willing to travel in order to foster market relationships and maintain a long-term approach to export development.

Participating buyers have been hand-picked by the California Wine Institute’s Trade Directors, who noted that the UK and Irish markets are excited for new California wines.  The United Kingdom and Ireland are already part of the second largest export market for California wines after Canada.
