Many CVP contractors are starting out with an initial allocation that is more than double that of last year’s initial announcement. Robert Sahatjian of Victor Packing shared his perspective on new raisin varieties and cultivation methods. A protester tried to interrupt Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Thursday, as he gave his keynote speech at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s 100th Agriculture Outlook Forum. A new weed was found for the first time in California in a Butte County rice field towards the end of last year. The USDA has yet to open enrollment for the Dairy Margin Coverage program.
