Wastewater Still Faces Yuck Factor
Many wineries already recycle their wastewater for irrigation and a UC Davis project is producing guidelines for operations to follow based on the soil that makes up their land. UC Davis Junior Specialist Maya Buelow says these projects still face an unscientific challenge. The term ‘wastewater’ is perceived negatively by the general public and these projects that reuse that water for irrigation face a ‘yuck’ factor when the process becomes public.
