USDA to Start Bidding Process for Raisins

There’s a well-planned process ahead for the USDA, as it aims to purchase $36.4 million dollars of raisins.

As we told you previously, the USDA plans on buying more than $30 million of California raisins. In fact, the USDA is purchasing a total of $126.4 million of fruit and vegetable products, to be distributed to needy families under the Emergency Food Assistance Program. But as President and General Manager Raisin Administrative Committee Gary Schulz explains, there’s a bit of a process ahead.
