Sustainability is a trend that is growing throughout California. The practice is partially fueled by the drought conditions, but the term itself has taken on an entirely bigger meaning. President of the Sonoma County Wine Grape Commission Karissa Kruse wanted to get area growers into the movement with a bold idea.

Kruse said they really didn’t know what to expect from a county-wide goal. They figured they would work hard for one year and see what the response was from the industry.
