If you’re looking for a way to celebrate agriculture this weekend, you might want to head over to King City for the Salinas Valley Fair.
This year the fair is celebrating its 70th anniversary. That’s 70 years of animal exhibits, community exhibits, entertainment and other family fun. There’s a long history of agriculture at fairs like the Salinas Valley Fair, and the fairs around the state are under the CDFA umbrella. They offer an opportunity for members of youth agriculture programs to showcase the animals they’ve raised and other ag-related accomplishments. And, by the way, weather for King City on Saturday – projected high is in the low 80’s. The fair opened Thursday and runs through Sunday. I’ll be out there tomorrow, so if you see me, make sure to say hello.
