A group called Rural for Hillary was organized earlier this week during the Democratic National Convention to begin campaign efforts for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in rural America. While not formally affiliated with Clinton’s campaign, the group did hold a closed-door session with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack earlier this week, according to the Hagstrom Report. Organizers of the group are volunteers and include Pam Johnson, former president of the National Corn Growers Association. Other organizers include volunteer Vicki Hicks, and Trevor Dean, a former National Farmers Union and Sen. Clinton staff member.
