Continuing our series on using the Tamarixia bug as a biological control for Asian citrus psyllids, AgNet West’s Taylor Hillman tells us if there are any side effects to a large increase in population.

Little Side Effects to Tamarixia

As researchers polish their findings on Tamarixia and their potential as an added tool to a current IPM system for Asian citrus psyllids, some wonder if a huge population increase will have a negative effect on the environmental balance. CDFA Environmental Program Manager David Morgan says they might have a positive added effect if anything.
