Natural Pest Repellants

With all of the hard work your put into your backyard gardens it would be devastating to see the fruits of your labor disappear or destroyed because of some hungry insects.

There are some easy, do it yourself, all-natural ways to keep those hungry bugs from coming back!

One solution is a Garlic-Chili Spray. Using sliced, spicy chili pods and cloves of garlic. Fill a jar halfway, the add water to the other half.  Let this soak for a couple of days, strain away the particles and put the liquid into a spray bottle.

Cooking oil spray is another effective way to deter pests. Mix the oil with biodegradable dish soap and a cup of soap to make a concentrate and store in a dark, dry place. When you’re ready to use, mix 4 tablespoons of the concentrate with 2 cups of water.

A basic soap and citrus spray will also do the trick. One way to do it, combine a couple of tablespoons of chemical-free dish soap with 5 or 6 cups of water and a few drops of Lemon essential oil. This won’t harm your plants and bugs will get a whiff and keep on walking.
