Marketing and branding for a smaller company is getting easier as technology develops and the wide array of tools the Internet has given farmers makes that process fairly inexpensive.
At the 2015 Small Farms Conference in San Diego, Kismet Public Relations Founder and Owner Alexa Popplewell talked to small farmers about how important diversified online branding schemes are nowadays. A decade ago, starting an online presence in any realm was challenging, time consuming and expensive if you paid for the services. Popplewell says growers need to understand those days are over and there are tons of tools online that make using those resources affordable.
Online marketing and branding can get overwhelming with all of the options available. Popplewell says there are a few things that are a must, and it’s important to choose an outlet that complements your product or business. Popplewell also had simple “dos and don’ts” for social media, and how to engage with consumers.
