Experts say there is a connection between scale on almond trees and lower limb dieback.
Advisors believe lower limb dieback happens in different almond varieties for a number of different reasons, but some varieties in particular are seeing dieback connected to scale populations. Cooperative Extension Pomology Nut Crop Advisor David Doll says growers with those varieties should be on the lookout for scale.
