
Japanese reports claimed current tariffs on U.S. wine would be ‘phased out’ in the new trade deal and a top official confirmed those claims with AgNet West. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Stephen Censky talked one-on-one with AgNet West’s Danielle Leal shortly after the new trade deal between the U.S. and Japan was signed last week. Censky confirmed reports from The Nikkei, a well-known Japanese financial newspaper, that tariffs on U.S. wine would be gradually reduced and then eliminated in five to seven years.
