The folks at the Lindcove Research and Extension Center (LREC) are hoping to be able to expand and improve the facility to provide even better community outreach.  The center hosts several different events throughout the year to provide updates on research projects and keep industry members as well as the local community informed.

“If you’ve been out to Lindcove and seen our conference center you know that we could use some improvements,” said Beth Grafton-Cardwell, IPM Specialist and Research Entomologist with the Department of Entomology at UC Riverside and Director of LREC. “We’d like to put in real roads and a parking lot around it.”

Grafton-Cardwell mentioned they would like to better serve school children with educational opportunities related to agricultural production and specifically the citrus industry. “We’d like to put in an eating area and an amphitheater and just really expand what we do in terms of outreach about citrus,” Grafton-Cardwell noted.

Those interested in helping LREC make the necessary improvements can do so through the facility’s website.
