This is now the longest government shutdown in U.S. history and people across the nation are feeling the burden. California Farm Bureau’s Manager of Federal Policy, Josh Rolph explains that the timing of the shutdown doesn’t help the situation.  The shutdown came just after the passing of the Farm Bill, right in the midst of the holiday season and has now lasted weeks. While the California Farm Bureau doesn’t have a stance of the main reason for the shutdown, it does have a stance on the bigger picture of the shutdown– a resolution.  Rolph explains a resolution would be beneficial for farmers and others who are reliant of government programs.
