A Republican leadership aide told national media the House leaders decided to bring an agriculture-only Farm Bill up for a vote before the August recess by splitting it from the food stamps and other nutrition programs that were in the bill.
In a previous interview, Congressman Jim Costa of California told AgNet West he thought splitting the Farm Bill was a bad idea.
