It’s bee season, and bees are now headed from Florida to California to pollinate our almonds. But, there are some pretty serious concerns about bees this season.
David Westervelt is the Assistant Chief of Apiary for the Florida Department of Agriculture Consumer Services. And though he’s in Florida, he also keeps a close eye on bees in California and around the nation. He says he’s watching reports on a specific bee from Africa, and if that bee were to come into the US, it could be a nightmare.
