California Citrus Mutual (CCM) is hosting a series of grower town halls next week beginning Tuesday, October 8 in Coachella, followed by another on Wednesday, October 9 in Ventura, and finishing up in Tulare on Thursday, October 10. CCM Communications Manager Alexis Silveira highlighted some of the items on the agenda for the town hall events.
“We will be giving regulatory and legislative updates that will come from Alyssa Houtby, our Director of Government Relations, and Lori Apodaca who is our Director of Regulatory Affairs,” Silveira said. “They will both be giving updates on what’s going on in Sacramento and things that our growers need to know.”
Silveira noted that Citrus Research Board President Marcy Martin and Director of the Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Division Victoria Hornbaker will also be presenting information at the meetings. The October 8 event is being held at the UCR Palm Desert Center, followed by the October 9 meeting at the Santa Paula Community Center. The final meeting scheduled for October 10 will be hosted at the Tulare Heritage Complex, Banquet Hall.
