The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the National Pork Producers Council and the American Meat Institute all have significant worries about the new Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling program – or M-COOL. The pork producers council says it doesn’t expect M- COOL to satisfy the World Trade Organization, and feels it could bring on retaliation against U.S. pork exports.
