Area-Wide Management of Asian Citrus Psyllid

The Citrus Pest & Disease Prevention Program has launched a new educational video for California citrus growers. The video details the area-wide management treatment strategy for combating the Asian citrus psyllid.

Area-wide management is currently being enacted in some areas of Southern California where the psyllid has been present for quite some time and is, unfortunately, established. Growers in much of the Central Valley and other areas are still working to eradicate the pest. However, should a time come when psyllid populations in the valley increase, this treatment strategy would be enacted. It’s important for growers now to begin organizing themselves for area-wide management in the future.
