Everett Griner talks about it is the time of year for outdoor cooking on the grill in today’s Agri View.
Outdoor Cooking
Now, here is a food statistic that surprises no one. Meat sales for grilling meats are on the rise. That means that other meats are declining retail sales. It doesn’t take a scientific study to figure out why. It is the time of year. Once winter has passed, the advertising campaign to sell outdoor grills floods the advertising media. And those that stored last year’s new grills begin the cleaning and preparation process. One other interesting statistic. Consumers are paying more for chicken, steak, pork, and all other meat commonly cooked on a grill. Charcoal was once the primary means of cooking outdoors. But, in recent years electricity has become a prime source of power for heating. The season runs at least half the year. From May through September. So, good luck, and good cooking. And by the way, be sure that you have a meat thermometer.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
