People from around the state are invited to a water forum this week. It’s being held in Fresno, and will feature several speakers. Sabrina Hill has more information.
The forum is being organized and held by the Fresno Grizzlies Farm Grown Program. Jerry James with the Fresno Grizzlies tells us the forum topic will center on the current drought conditions as well as the impacts to the Central Valley Ag industry and rural communities. Rep. Jim Costa, D-Fresno, will speak on the issue along with Dave Orth, general Manager of the Kings River Conservation District and Sen. Tom Berryhill, R-Modesto.
James points out this is an educational event, with the opportunity afterward to talk with the speakers. Tickets are $35 each and include the forum, as well as the triple A baseball game afterward and a dinner The forum is August 29th, starting at 4:30. Tickets are on sale now and the forum is already about half-way to sold out.
To order tickets, call 559.320.TIXS (8497).
AgNet West and the Fresno Grizzlies want to make sure everyone has access to the forum, even those who can’t afford a ticket or to travel to Fresno. We are teaming up to broadcast the forum live on our website as it happens.
AgNet West will live stream the main portion of the event on our website, www.agnetwest.com. Live stream testing will begin at about 4:20 for website visitors to be certain they can view the stream.
