The U.S. Department of Agriculture has unveiled a new addition to its My Plate website called Healthy Eating on a Budget. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says although healthy foods aren’t always more expensive – many low-income people face time and resource challenges when it comes to putting healthy food on the table. USDA believes consumers who visit this new section of www.choosemyplate.gov will learn ways to plan, purchase and prepare healthy meals. The new section includes
tips and strategies to save money, ways to plan a healthier diet and simple-to-use tips on how to make good decisions when shopping at the grocery store.
