Tropical Fruit Contest ‘Share Mango Love’

What is your favorite way to eat or enjoy a Mango? In a smoothie? Diced and tossed in a salad? In Salsa? Or eaten whole?

Well, you could be seeing Mangos popping up everywhere this summer in different menu applications and recipes. That’s because the Florida-based National Mango Board has challenged professional chefs, dietitians, and others in the commercial and non-commercial foodservice industry to: Share Mango Love. That’s the name of a contest already underway, designed to showcase the versatility of fresh mango in savory applications. The Share Mango Love Foodservice Recipe Contest will have professionals competing for cash prizes in the following categories: appetizer/snack, salad/side, and entrée. Contest entries will be accepted through the end of August. More information can be found at Mango-dot-org forward slash recipe contest.

national mango boardThis Mango Raspberry Coconut Sorbet is something that when you make once, you’ll make over and over…it’s SO DELICIOUS and easy to make! It really shows off the sweet mango, which is complimented by tart raspberries and the silky coconut milk. It’s a great treat on a hot day, and you can even serve it as an elegant dessert!

There aren’t many things more mouthwatering and delicious than a ripe, tender, sweet mango, But sometimes it can be hard to choose the right one. So, as we make the sorbet, I’ll show you how to pick the PERFECT mango, and easy ways to cut it up perfectly! Mangos are one of my favorite fruits, and they are in season RIGHT NOW!

Thank you so so much to the National mango board for the mangos and for your amazing website that taught me so many cool mango facts and recipes. You guys should definitely check it out at www.mango.org!
