A new study published by the science journal, Nature Human Behavior found that those who know the least about GMO’s oppose it the most. According the the article, most scientists agree that GMO’s are safe for human consumption and provide many benefits including increased nutritional content, higher yield per acre, have a better shelf life and are better at resisting crop disease. The study, tested a group of 501 individuals and measured their attitudes toward GMO’s as well as their knowledge and understanding of GMO’s. The researchers found, “extreme opponents of genetic engineering technology display a lack of insight into how much they know.”
