Ratifying a new Farm Bill takes the efforts of many different people over a long period of time. Once it’s signed into law, the states begin to implement the programs in order for farmers and organizations to either comply with or apply for those programs. However, the near month-long government shutdown is making things a little tricky, especially at a time when farmers, ranchers and organizations are planning their year. California Farm Bureau’s Manager of Federal Policy Josh Rolph explains the next steps of implementation of the Farm Bill.
