The second annual Farm of the Future Field Day is scheduled for Wednesday, October 25 at West Hills College Coalinga. The event is being hosted by West Hills College Coalinga, in collaboration with BlueTech Valley, Bowles Farming, California Energy Commission, PowWow Energy, and UC ANR.
The day will begin with breakfast at 8 a.m. followed by a welcome from Terry Brase of West Hills College Coalinga and an introduction by Dr. David Zoldoske from Blue Tech Valley at 8:30 a.m.
Field demonstrations will be given across three levels for new farm management tools. Irrigation infrastructure will feature continuous pump monitoring and automation. Soil mapping along with remoting sensing will also be discussed.
Peer-reviewed presentations will also be available to growers who want to better understand how data can be integrated to provide better farm productivity and resource efficiency. The day will conclude with an industry panel discussion on the status of standards that will give the control of data to growers.
There is no charge for growers wishing to register for the Farm of the Future Field Day and a $40 fee for vendors. Lunch will also be provided for attendees. Registration forms and additional information are available at the website for the event.
