A May 21 federal order reversed some restrictions on citrus inside of an Asian citrus psyllid quarantine zone. Taylor Hillman has more about the point of the quarantine zones.
The original Asian citrus psyllid quarantine zone restricted stem and leaf mandarins from being shipped out of the area. The CDFA immediately saw a problem when several mandarin-only packinghouses halted production. CDFA Environmental Program Manager Nawal Sharma said their goal is to help commerce survive during these environmental restrictions.
