The “no heading cut” pruning method for young walnut trees is showing early production and reduced labor cost for growers. Cooperative Extension Contra Costa Farm Advisor Janet Caprielle says the Extension is still monitoring the research though before recommending it to all growers, as some spacing issues might pop up several years down the road.
