When asked about current tariff situations, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue likened fair trade practices to the College World Series.
AgNet West asked USDA’s top official if American producers need to be concerned about more countries issuing tariff increases and possibly developing into what has happened with China. Perdue emphasized he hoped an end to the China-U.S. feud was on the horizon, referencing the bulk purchase of agriculture products China is said to be purchasing.
Perdue added however that the administration isn’t going to back down in what they are trying to do with China, comparing the fairness that needs to be protected in trade practices to the recent College World Series.
