While several states are seeing big improvements to their pastures and rangelands, California is still on the downside. However, over much of the country rangelands are definitely improving.

However, in much of the west and southwest, it’s a different story. Here in California – 65 percent of the rangeland is still rated poor to very poor.

Arizona is even worse than California. It has 75 percent in the poor to very poor range.

New Mexico has the worse rating, with 92 percent rated poor to very poor.
