Mechanical grape harvesting of juice grapes is underway in the Central Valley.
Some growers are reporting reduced brix content, probably due to the long hot spell with no sustained breaks in the 100 degree heat since July. However, tonnage appears to be up and the cooler weather ahead should bring sugar content in line with vintner’s needs.
