Experts saw a lot of hull rot this season in almond orchards, an issue that always has the possibility of flaring up with spores everywhere in the environment.
Cooperative Extension Pomology Tree Crop Advisor David Doll told growers at a recent port-harvest field day that high hull rot pressure was seen by many growers this season. Doll reminded everyone that there is always a possibility to have high hull rot problems weather a grower has seen the issue before or not. Doll said the weather change this year was likely a big contributor to an increase of rot.
