Hasty Groundwater Legislation Looming?
The drought has exacerbated the groundwater problem in California. Underground aquifers are being depleted at an increasing rate as more and more land owners drop new wells. Western Growers Association Senior Vice President Dave Puglia says it’s a complicated issue to govern and a hasty decision isn’t the best idea. Governor Brown clearly addressed at the beginning of the year that groundwater levels would be a top priority.
