The former senior executive for the Kings River Water Quality Coalition and California Cotton Ginners & Growers Vice President Casey Creamer is joining the Citrus Mutual staff on February 27 as Executive Vice President announces CCM President Joel Nelsen. “Casey grew up on the family’s dairy,” notes Nelsen, “and since then has worked extensively with growers to achieve a better economic environment for those producing food and fiber. That’s what Citrus Mutual is all about, and the opportunity to have an individual of his caliber join our staff could not be ignored.”
His role at Kings River Water Quality Coalition required him to work with diversified producers in a variety of water related areas along with interacting with state regulatory bodies. His “constituency” was an estimated 5000 producers and he reported to a 28 member board.
As Vice President of California Cotton Ginners & Growers and Western Agricultural Processors Association, he addressed public policy issues and regulatory demands while focusing on grower priorities. At Citrus Mutual his role will be an elevation of those activities at both the state level and in federal offices.
“Last July the Citrus Mutual board made the conscientious decision to strengthen the existing staff with both expertise and additional manpower. That process is now completed,” Nelsen concludes. “CCM has achieved a reputation of being highly effective, very credible, and an honest purveyor of grower needs. There will be challenges and opportunities for our industry as the future unfolds and the goal is for CCM to be at the forefront addressing the needs of the California citrus industry.”
