The No-Till Cotton Production Field Day is coming up on Thursday near Dos Palos, in Fresno County. It’s organized by the Conservation Agriculture Systems Innovation Center, and is a a two-stop field tour of innovative and cost-cutting no-till cotton production systems. Sessions include topics like drip irrigation, opportunities and techniques, a pest update, and recent successes and progress.
There’s also a field day coming up for walnut growers on Friday. This one is at Hanson Ranch in Lake County. Discussion topics include to prune or not, managing walnut husk fly, treating crown gall, and orchard irrigation, fertility and floor management.
And on June 4th, avocado growers can attend a seminar titled “Weed and Feed Your Avocado”. It’s at the San Luis Obispo County Cooperative Extension Auditorium. Growers will learn about weed management in avocados, fertilizer injectors, and fertilizer formulations.
