California leads the nation in farmers’ markets. Just about anywhere you live in the state, you can find a farmers market relatively nearby on a weekly basis year round. And that’s good news when it comes to Californian’s health, especially for low-income families. Professor of food studies Carolyn Dimitri says farmers’ markets are a part of the solution to helping low-income families eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
