Farm Credit celebrated National Ag Day on March 15th by announcing the top honorees of their 100 Fresh Perspectives program.
From July to December of 2015, Farm Credit searched for the top 100 individuals who represented rural communities in agriculture. They received over one thousand nominees from all 50 states, where they then had a panel of experts choose the best of the best.
In the pool of the 100 individuals awarded, California is the home of 6 of them.
- Reggie Knox out of Santa Cruise, California was awarded under Financial Stewardship.
- Michael O’Goreman out of Davis, California was awarded under Agriculture Education and Community Impact
- Carly Olufs out of Petaluma, California was awarded under Beginning Farmer or Rancher Achievement
- Debbie Raven out of Selma, California was awarded under Agriculture Education and Community Impact
- Vernon Peterson out of Kingsburg, California was awarded under Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- And Mark Thompson out of Madera, California was awarded under Mentoring and Volunteerism
