Broiler/Fryer: Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance
Whole broiler/fryer prices are trending steady in the West, weak in the Midwest and weak to lower in the East. Offerings of all sizes are light to mostly available. Retail demand is light to moderate with some waiting for first of the month business to develop. Floor stocks are mixed ranging light to heavy with buyers very cautious and selective limiting orders to immediate needs.
Market activity is mostly slow. In the parts structure, movement is light to moderate and noted as cautious during early week trading. Prices are trending steady to firm for wings and dark meat items; steady to weak for boneless skinless breast. Offerings of wings are balanced and well cleared. Boneless skinless breast are at least adequate and increasingly available. Most dark meat items are sufficient. Market activity for parts is slow to moderate. In production areas, live supplies are moderate at mixed but mostly desirable weights.
