January 2017 stocks on hand on the last Saturday of the month totaled 1.23 million pounds up 6 percent from December 2016 but down 18 percent from January 2016.
Total number of spindles on the cotton system was 1.26 million during January 2017. Active spindles consuming 100 percent cotton was 748 thousand in January 2017, down slightly from December 2016 but up 7 percent from January 2016.
