The CDFA is inviting them to the department’s June 4th meeting, so the board can learn more about farm training programs. It’s also a chance for the farmers and ranchers to encourage others to move into the field.
The CDFA says farm demographics are changing across the state as well as the nation. Fewer individuals are becoming farmers and the average age of farmers continues to rise. The CDFA hopes information from current farmers and ranchers coupled with our state’s many programs geared toward helping others develop farming careers, more young people will decide to go into the agriculture industry.
