The California Department of Food and Agriculture now has 62 days to make a decision that will affect the dairy industry.

It comes after this week’s hearing at the CDFA in Sacramento on whey prices. The hearing was an attempt to move the value of whey in California closer to the federal amount. California producers are currently paid less than the federal value. The CDFA will decide on whether to increase the current price.
