Ronnie Leimgruber grows hay and feed corn near El Centro, in Imperial County. In mid-May, his feed corn crop is already over six feet tall and producing ears of corn nearly ready for harvest. He says his friends in different parts of the country almost don’t believe his crop is that far along. Leimgruber says the early success of the crop is due to the weather in the Imperial Valley.
