Many agriculture organizations have issued statements expressing disappointment with the farm bill extension. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says he’s also disappointed with aspects of it.
Vilsack points out there were positive parts to the extension and the fiscal cliff deal.
Vilsack says he’s looking forward to continuing the work to get a new farm bill passed once the extension expires in September.
Congress now has three months to get the nation’s budget in order and finalized, or face another fiscal cliff situation.
