The International Association for Food Protection gives the GMA Food Safety Award to an individual or group for highly significant food safety development or in recognition of a long history of outstanding contributions to food safety. The Almond Board of California (ABC) is this year’s honoree, and ABC’s Director of Quality Assurance and Industry Services Tim Birmingham said the industry’s continued efforts, starting with pasteurization, is the reason for the recognition.
