The Almond Board of California has set aggressive goals for the industry to reach by 2025. Reduce the amount of water used to produce a pound of almonds by 20%, increase adoption of environmentally friendly pest management tools by 25%, achieve zero waste by putting everything produced in the orchard to optimal use, and reduce dust during harvest by 50%. Almond Board of California’s President and CEO Richard Waycott talked about the goals at the Almond Conference.
AgNet West will have more detail on each goal in future Almond Updates.
