Almond growers and others in the industry are gathered in Kerman today for the UC Cooperative Extension’s first Central Valley almond symposium in over two years. California is the world’s largest almond producer, and while there have been symposiums in other parts of the state, the Central Valley growers went about two years without a UC advisor – and without a symposium in their area. The new UC Nut Crop Advisor, Gurreet Brar, organized today’s event.
He says due to the high interest and participation in this event, he plans on having the Central Valley Symposium annually.
