From the Almond Board and California FFA:
Five years ago, Almond Board of California (ABC), through the Almond Leadership Program, began raising funds for the California FFA Foundation to help ensure scholarships were available for graduating seniors who were pursuing agriculture as their college major. Between 2011 and 2015, nearly $20,000 was raised through the silent auction as part of The Almond Conference. In 2016, the Almond Leadership Program participants were challenged to raise $15,000. With the help of nearly 50 companies and individuals who donated items and made online bids, more than $27,000 was raised!
The class of the 2017 ABC Almond Leadership Program participants are dedicated leaving their mark and supporting the future leaders of the California ag industry. With 18 individuals representing all facets of the industry in this year’s class, the group is dedicated to raising $25,000 by December 8, 2017!
To help make this goal a reality, in addition to the silent auction at The Almond Conference, the Almond Leadership Program will be conducting a live auction during the annual Gala Dinner, Dec. 7. Feel free to reach out to Jenny Nicolau at jnicolau@almondboard.com to donate an item for the silent or live auction. Or take action now by making a monetary donation by clicking here until December 8, 2017.
