Everett Griner talks about the fight over water not over in today’s Agri View.
Water War Fight
Although the arbitrator appointed by a federal official to settle that water war between Georgia and Florida didn’t do so. His decision favored Georgia in that decades old battle. His ruling was that Florida had not proved that Georgia farmers were using too much water. He urged the states to continue to negotiate. I would call that an incomplete pass. No ground was gained. Oyster farming in Apalachicola Bay is still a Florida disaster. But Georgia officials contend that water from the Flint and Chattahoochee Rivers had no impact on the oyster failure. What can be anticipated now? Well what most people expect is more law suits. That fight isn’t over. Not by a long shot. You’ll see.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner.
