Everett Griner talks about farm technology that is rather unusual in today’s Agri View.
Quite often I devote my alotted time to the impact that modern technology had, and has had, on agriculture. You couldn’t list them all in a week’s time. There is one piece of technology I haven’t given mention to. I never thought of it as farm technology. The cell phone.
Stop and think now. Of the farmers, and the ways farmers could use a cell phone to save time and save money. As recently as 4 former presidents we didn’t have cell phone technology. Today, a farmer in Kansas could dial up a farmer in Mexico. They can exchange information if one of them speaks both languages.
It could be used for social information as well as business. Best of all. It didn’t cost thousands of dollars. He can carry it in his shirt pocket.
So cell phones, I guess, are a part of farm technology.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
