Everett Griner talks about the effects of a trade war in today’s Agri View. Everett discusses how all United States industries will be affected by this.
Now suppose China does strike back by placing embargoes on U.S. goods. Here is what that means.
Let’s take pork. China has already listed pork imports as one of the products. The pork industry generates over 150,000 jobs in America. Pork is just an example. It has already been indicated how the rest of American agriculture would fare. In addition to pork there is cotton, corn, tobacco, soybeans.
It is not just the people that grow these crops that will be impacted. Think about the jobs that sustain non-farm families. I have told you many time that agriculture generates more jobs for American families than any other industry. So it is likely that a trade war will eliminate more of these jobs.
Now, think about other industries affected by such a war.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
